Dog T-Bones A Car

Hello dog people, and welcome back to another edition of Big Big Stretch.

Today we've got a dog sitter who missed a very important detail, a story about a dog who t-boned a car (not a typo), and a life saving invention for the new pup parents.

Grab your coffee or mimosa, grab your pup and let’s dive in.

A Wholesome Dog Story:

Willow’s dog sitter doesn’t know the release word:

Plenty of dogs have the tendency to go full hot dog eating contest style on their food when you set it down, which is why lots of dog owners train them to wait and sit while the food is poured and then say a release word like “okay” for them to commence eating.

This is all fine and dandy when the person feeding the dog actually knows the release word. In this case, Willow the golden retriever had a sitter that didn’t get the memo about what the release word actually is so she didn’t know when to actually start eating.. Willow is the goodest girl for knowing the drill but if I was her sitter I would also just be naming off random words to hopefully guess the right one.

Without further ado, here is Willow the golden waiting patiently while the sitter plays Wheel of Fortune and just start’s guessing words.

Life of Dog Parents:

Zeus t-bones a car:

From Reddit user "HopefulTangerine21"…

“Zeus was 150 lbs of pure muscle, a Great Pyrenees. We didn't realize the fence had developed a hole, but apparently he knew and just hadn't taken advantage until this night.

From his hill lookout point in our backyard, he saw his nemesis dog being walked across the street, and he bolted for him, dashing through the hole and heading across the street without pause.

Thank god the car was speeding a little, so Zeus ended up t-boning the side of the car instead of being hit by the car, right at the seam of the front passenger door.

He was fine, really super sore, but no breaks or anything and the vet just prescribed pain meds and rest after the x-rays were clear. The car, though, needed almost $2k in repairs because the front door couldn't be opened anymore due to the large dent he put in the two panels.”

Imagine explaining to the body shop that a dog hit your car...

Top 5 Dog Products:

Plant Based Grooming Wipes: Imagine this, you just bought a nice clean white/tan rug for your home and after taking your dog for a walk he comes back in and adds some “color” to it. This is exactly why we started using these wipes after every walk.

Snuggle puppy: For the young puppy owners who are losing sleep because you’re trying to crate train the pup this snuggle puppy may be the best purchase you ever make. It mimics the feeling of the pup’s little mates with the heart beat feature.

Dehydrated beef liver: The best way to train specific skills like recall for dogs is by using high value treats in your training. My doodle considers these the highest of value and so do tons of other dogs.

Squeaky pig: 100% of the dogs I have seen get this squeaky pig are massive fans of it. If you’re the type who likes to hear a squeaky toy randomly in the middle of your favorite Netflix show get this one for the pup.

Only Natural Pet Probiotics: Gut health is something we struggled A LOT with when it came to our doodle. It’s gotten 20x better over the last 2 years and we can totally give credit to starting these probiotics. 100% recommend them and available at PetSmart.

A dog meme:

A dog quote to wrap things up:

"Money can buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail" - Kinky Friedman

What did you think of today’s issue?

Until next Sunday, pet your dog for me and let them sniff that plant a little extra on your walk..

Cheers,
Manny & Sulley
